Grenache Blanc

This varietal has been grown on 110-14 rootstock from clones developed by Tablas Creek.  It is grown in our North and West vineyard blocks and will be grafted onto some of the South vineyard block.

Matthes Vineyards’ Grenache Blanc can be found in the following wines:

2012 Victor-Hill produced our “Vineyard Designate” Grenache Blanc.  The rest of these grapes were blended with our Marsanne and a bit of Viognier.

2013 Victor-Hill as yet unreleased  “Vineyard Designate” Grenache Blanc.  The rest of these grapes were blended with our Marsanne and a bit of Viognier.

2014 Our first release under our own label…!  Early barrel tastings have been amazing.  should be released early next fall as we crush the 2015 vintage.

We tasted the 2012 last night at Sonoma’s Best — tasting against other white Rhones… Yep, I’m biased but the other tasters sang its praises before I could even speak up! We can’t wait for its release when Victor-Hill opens their Sonoma tasting room.

The Victor-Hill tasting room is open and the Matthes Vineyard Grenache Blanc 2012 is almost sold out. I do not know how much 2013 V-H will have upon its release. The also have the Belle de Blanc blend of our two Rhone white plus 15% Viognier from another Sonoma Valley grower — yummy!
